Familia Bugarin: Winter Park Family Fun

For the last couple of years Jay has had the opportunity to go and volunteer at the Wells Fargo Ski Cup, an event for disabled skiers and snowboarders, needless to say it is a BLAST! (I know this because Jay LOVES to go).

Anyhow, we decided to make it a chance for a quick family getaway. We decided to stay at the YMCA in nearby Granby and are so happy we did. Although we were only there 1 night it was well worth it. Aiden and Alex were great. Aiden LOVES the YMCA. We have stayed at one before but it was the one in Estes Park and Aiden remembers the fun he had there. We went swimming, ate, and slept and then we checked out. Not a lot of time to explore but just enough to enjoy being away from home.

The BEST part is that Jay and Aiden were able to go skiing on Friday for most of the day. I just hung out in Winter Park and checked out the sights with Alex.
So back to the boys, Jay and I decided that it was worth the money to put Aiden in Ski school and boy was it! Aiden had an AWESOME time!! He loved skiing, his instructor (a girl), and his school mates (girls too)! He was only able to go for a half-day session but was able to get the basics and at the end of the day he was able to ski down the mountain with daddy! Aiden also wants me to mention that during ski school he and his fellow ski mates wore GPS devices on their legs. Jay had a great time hitting the slopes and skiing on his own for the most part. He would have liked to ski with me but with Alex it would have been hard to navigate and I really don't want to ski (to Jay's dismay).

I am just so happy that we went even if it was only for just 2 days. The fresh mountain air was just what we needed. Alex even slept like a champ when we got back which is HUGE!!! I love my family and the time we get to spend together.
