Be My Valentine!

So on Valentine Day, we got together with our good friends David & Stacie and their 2 kiddos, Ally and Justin. Aiden and Ally have played together since birth and love each other a lot. As we were all eating Aiden and Ally came up from the basement to tell us that they were married. Aiden then defended his "wife" from her younger brother Justin who wanted in on the action. Aiden did not want him bothering him and his "wife" Ally. Aiden has such a wonderful imagination and sense of wonder. I really love that the world is his playground and everything is so exciting and new. I remember when I taught preschool, some of the kids were not excited about the little things in life, things like a bunny hopping around the grass, or squirrel jumping from the trees, that did nothing to bring them joy. Whereas Aiden couldn't be more thrilled by nature. Ally is much the same and I love watching such innocence.

So Valentine's Day was good for me. I am not one to be super excited or overjoyed about V-day, but I do want to take a moment, like some of my fellow bloggers and say how much I love Jay. We have been married 5 years and it has been wonderful...and hard and fraught with unique challenges, but nonetheless marvelous. I am grateful for someone that is so funny, kind, smart, HOT, sweet, generous, and hard-working. I am overcome at times how much I love him and I had thought the love I felt on the day I married him was the highlight of my love. How happy I am to be wrong(note: only in this certain instance am I ever wrong). I love Jay even when we are arguing over dumb things that make me sigh with frustration(a word Jay despises). I love Jay with all I have and more. I am so grateful I am going to be with him for eternity. I wouldn't want it any other way.
