STILL HERE & FINALLY HERE...Part 1

So I know I have a ton of updating to do and will maybe get to it but for the mean time I am just going to update on the biggest and most recent happenings.

After a rough trimester and a half I started to finally feel better during my pregnancy.  I was so happy and grateful I was not throwing up anymore.  However, my body had other plans and got incredibly swollen, I had insomnia and a wonderful dose of pregnancy carpel tunnel.  I was in tip-top shape...NOT.  Needless to say I was grateful to not be throwing up but wondering if it was really so bad.

On November 1st I went to my scheduled appointment and it was discovered that I had high blood pressure or as they call it when you're prego, pre-eclampsia.  So the doctor put me on immediate bed rest and told me to monitor my bp the rest of the day and into Tuesday and he would see me again on Wednesday.  Well my bp never went down and really only got higher.  By Tuesday night I was feeling cruddy and on Wednesday I was getting nervous.  My mom told me to pack a bag because she just knew I would be admitted to the hospital.

Sure enough I was admitted after the Dr. looked at my bp log and checked again at the office.  Moms really just know best.  Anyhow, I then went over the the Labor and Delivery triage where I was monitored for an hour or so.  My bp never really went down and the Dr. came in and said okay, we will do the c-section at 4 pm that day(he wanted to wait at least 8 hours, if he could, since my last meal).  I was then admitted into the hospital and put in a room where I was given some Magnesium for the pre-eclampsia.

This is me, near tears in Labor and Delivery.  I felt and look awful.

As soon as I was all hooked up in my room and the nurses left for a moment they came rushing back in, shocked, because I was having contractions.  Can you believe it?  I was on some meds that made me feel HORRIBLE and then I went into active labor.  I was in labor for 4 or 5 hours.  By the time I went into the OR for the c-section, the Dr. said I was dilated to a 6.  What?!  Crazy I know. The most wonderful part was (insert sarcasm) that my Dr. (I LOVE this guy so don't judge him) decided I didn't need to get my spinal or an epidural early to help relieve the contraction pain.  What?!  They decided to give me some Phentonal (sp?) and it only helped me not feel the CRAPPY affects of the Magnesium and did nothing for my contractions.

Finally the time arrived that I was wheeled to the OR and going to have a baby in no time.....

I am very pleased that they do not let you girls go thru what I did... They catch it quickly and do not play games... I nearly stroked out on them with my first 2...

You are so blessed that you both were healthy...

Hugs and Kisses... and yes Prayers do work...
