Preschool and Camping (Check out the Video at the end)

I should have posted this last week or so but didn't have the energy or the time, not that I do now but here I am. Aiden started preschool on the 2nd of September and loved it. He was super excited and couldn't wait to get rid of me and go learn "things" as he puts it. He even sang a cute song right before we left.(which is at the very bottom of the post) He loves his teacher Ms. Debbie and Ms. Ellie. He has a large class of 16 and more than half are boys. She has her hands full, I will tell you what. I know this because I went this week to be the parent helper on Aiden's special day. On his special day he is the line leader, the 1st to get snack and help with the prep, he also got to hold the flag when they said the Pledge of Allegiance. He was so proud, especially because he likes to be 1st in EVERYTHING! If you know my child even a little bit, you know that. Umm...I wonder where he gets that from? :)

I am so happy that he is happy and loves to learn. I was pleasantly surprised with how well behaved he was and willing to listen to the teacher. I know I have my troubles with him at home sometimes but its good to know he doing his best at school. I love my little man. He is getting so big. I can't believe he is almost 5. I nearly cried dropping him off at preschool the 1st day. I didn't expect myself to do that. Oh well! He's my baby!

So on Labor Day weekend we went camping north of Red Feathers in Cherokee Park. This is the 2nd year we have done this with Brad and Alicia. We headed up on Friday after everyone got off work and made camp by nightfall. I was impressed with that because the traffic was not so hot since everyone was trying to get somewhere for the weekend. We didn't stay up too late that night, we were all too tired. But we did have time to celebrate Alicia's Birthday with some Hostess Cupcakes. Yummy!!!

Saturday we ate a yummy breakfast and hung out. Aiden messed around by throwing rocks and sticks and finding bugs, while the adults read and chilled out. Eventually, Brad and Alicia took a nap and our little family headed out for a little hike. Aiden loved climbing all the rocks and throwing them. It was fun despite the fact that all Jay and I wanted to do was take a nap. I am glad we didn't. Aiden just enjoyed spending alone time with mom and dad, as did we. We eventually headed back to camp and ate a late lunch or early dinner. We had Brad's AMAZING hamburgers and some spicy bratwursts.

We had an awesome fire, thanks to our pyro friend Brad and roasted marshmallows and ate some perfect smores. Aiden just wanted the chocolate but it was all good. Aiden and I went to bed early while Brad, Alicia, and Jay played "Name that Tune" with their IPODs. The next day, Sunday, we packed up early and ate some oatmeal and headed back home in just enough time to go to church. We had a great weekend! Thanks Brad and Alicia!
On a side note, Jay and I are also back in school this semester. I am at UNC full-time and Jay is at Aims part-time. We are busy and haven't been able to do much but homework since school started 3 weeks ago. We are bit overwhelmed but grateful to be going and furthering our education. Thanks to all those that help us we couldn't do it with out you!

Sounds like an awesome time! I can't believe Aiden is in school. You guys have done a great job teaching him, he is one smart little man.
